This is what some of our volunteers have to say

  • The Vita training was very helpful to me because it brought concepts in a more hands on manner, the usage of scenarios, and examples created during the presentations by Sarah (our trainer) and/or the trainees examples were insightful and lead to meaningful discussions.  Sarah is extremely approachable and ready to help us, I appreciated how she showed us how to look for information needed to answer our own questions, which I know we will need when we are helping clients.  The resources provided by the program are extremely helpful and really made things more real.

Overall, I am very thankful for the opportunity to help others and to learn. Thanks VIta Program !!

  • Giving back to the community has made one of the largest impacts on my life. It is not just about providing a service to the community it is about being there, prepared, and ready to help a perfect stranger with some they do not have the resources or education to do. Seeing how thankful these people are for the help, how happy they are to know that there was someone willing to give time to help them on a personal level forces a person to consider something other than themselves. Many of those who walk in the door a stranger depart as a friend I look forward to seeing the following year.

  • “Volunteering with the VITA program had been a very positive experience. I’ve learned practical skills that will help me in the real world while also being able to give back to the community. It’s always great to interact with taxpayers, it’s an all-around great experience!”
